Focus

- Share your goals with those who will be supportive - either with family, friends or even online communities.
- Put your goals in writing.
- Post visual reminders so you can’t forget - but not too many. Use the power of imagery to your advantage. If you can find an image that depicts what you would like to focus on, it helps bring attention and mindfulness to that goal.
- Create your own rituals/habits. We are what we repeatedly do and think about.
- Recognize your limits and plan accordingly. Be proactive and take control.
- Surround yourself with positive people.
- Find a mentor so you can ask yourself questions like, what would they do?
- For every commitment you make, schedule time to focus on that.
- Clear away visual and mental clutter from your environment. Write down things as you think of them, so they stop distracting you.
- Keep telling yourself that. What is your mantra? Affirmations work! Examples include I’m worth it. I’m special. I’m so smart.
